Zee
TV was among the first Indian language channels to debut in India.
The channel turned India's TV industry on its head. Launched by
Subhash Chandra's Essel Group in 1992, Zee TV gave viewers something
new: innovative, fast-paced entertainment programmes, broadcast
in Hindi.
Zee brought India television choice: talk shows, game shows, discussion
programmes, situation comedies and dramas. Zee TV's sister channels
are Zee Cinema, Zee News, Zee Music, Zee English, Zee MGM, Alpha
Marathi, Alpha Punjabi, Alpha Bengali and Alpha Gujarati.
Its regional languages services such as Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali,
and Gujarati have emerged as leaders in their language categories
beating back DD channels which have been around much longer. Currently,
the company is putting together a direct to operator (DTO) television
package for Indian cable TV operators.

was launched on 9 April 1995. This Hindi-language film channel over

audiences. Zee Cinema offers feature films from both Bollywood and
regional cinema: blockbusters, classics, love stories, art films,
family stories and thrillers. Every month, Zee Cinema broadcasts two
premiere movies that have not been released on video, TV or cable

between Zee Telefilms and leading Hollywood Studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
Inc. The MGM Library is the world`s largest and most modern collection
comprising more than 4,100 popular titles that serves as the foundation
of the Zee-MGM Movie Channel. The Zee Movies channel through this
partnership with MGM was re-launched as the Zee-MGM channel in Mid-October
2000. The library includes such legendary series as "James Bond",
"Rocky", "Pink Panther". Other titles include award winning and popular
movies - "Thelma & Louise", "Four Weddings and a Funeral", "Moonstruck",
